Weather Update in Vietnam (December 22): Cold Waves Extend Across the Country

The South and Northwest regions of Vietnam are currently experiencing stronger cold air, according to the Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting. Thanh Hoa and Nghe An in the North are particularly cold, especially in the mountainous areas. The area from Ha Tinh to Thua Thien Hue is also facing extremely cold weather.

Weather forecast in different regions

Northwest region: The forecast predicts sunny conditions during the day, with the possibility of frost in the mountainous areas. The lowest temperature is expected to be around 10-13 degrees, and in some places, it may go below 8 degrees. The highest temperature will be in the range of 16-19 degrees.

Northeast region: The weather will be sunny during the day, but frost is likely in the northern midlands and mountainous areas. The lowest temperature will be around 9-12 degrees, while the highest temperature will be around 15-18 degrees.

Thanh Hoa – Thua Thien Hue: The northern part of the region will have cloudy and sunny days, while the southern part will experience moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms. The lowest temperature in the North is expected to be around 10-13 degrees, and in the South, it will be around 15-18 degrees. The highest temperature in the North will be around 15-18 degrees, and in the South, it will be around 18-21 degrees.

The Central Highlands: The region will experience sunny conditions during the day, with a possibility of thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, and strong winds. The lowest temperature is expected to be around 18-21 degrees, while the highest temperature will reach 26-29 degrees.

The Southern region: The weather will be a mix of clouds and sun during the day, with showers and thunderstorms at night. Thunderstorms may bring along tornadoes, lightning, and strong winds. The lowest temperature will be around 22-25 degrees, and the highest temperature is expected to be around 31-34 degrees.

Hanoi: The weather will be sunny during the day, with very low temperatures. The lowest temperature will be around 9-12 degrees, and the highest temperature will be around 16-18 degrees.

Ho Chi Minh City: According to the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, the weather in the Ho Chi Minh City area will continue to be cloudy with no rain during the day. However, the temperature is expected to slightly decrease compared to previous days. The temperature will range between 32 – 33 degrees, which is 1 degree lower than before.
