Explore the Lacquer Artwork of 10 Noteworthy Artists in Hanoi

The exhibition titled “Stroll through the Lacquer Land” will be held in Hanoi, showcasing nearly 30 works by 10 renowned lacquer artists. This unique exhibition, featuring a variety of artistic perspectives, will take place from August 2 to 8 at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, located at 66 Nguyen Thai Hoc, Hanoi. One of the highlighted artists in the exhibition is Painter Phan Cam Thuong, who described his lacquer technique as reminiscent of the ancient Buddha statues. According to him, the drying process of ancient lacquer may be time-consuming, but it results in a transparent and water-like effect. He emphasized that lacquer is not just a material, but a way of drawing, and the material itself holds little significance in the creation of artworks. Another notable artist featured in the exhibition is Painter Ly Truc Son, who discovered his talent for painting at a young age of 12. Experience Korean Culture at Vietnam National Library’s Weekend Events

The Korean Cultural Centre in Vietnam is offering various activities for participants to engage in Korean culture. On July 28, there will be a workshop where participants can create crafts from Korean traditional Hanji paper. On August 4, participants can listen to Korean children’s stories and create Korean Minhwa painting. Additionally, on August 12, there will be an opportunity to make masks and experience Korean traditional mask dancing. All activities will take place at the National Library of Vietnam, located at 31 Trang Thi street in Hanoi. These activities are free of charge. In 2017, the International Cultural Foundation (ICF) of the Republic of Korea opened the children cultural library at the National Library of Vietnam, providing a space for cultural exchanges and book readings to help children understand more about Korean culture. Mongolia Hosts Vietnam’s Inaugural Fine Art Exhibition

The inaugural art exhibition of Vietnam in Mongolia, named “Scent of the South Wind – Vietnamese Contemporary Paintings,” is currently on display at the Mongol Art Gallery in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. The exhibition will be open to the general public until August 2nd. The exhibition helps introduce Vietnamese contemporary art to Mongolian audiences.
